The New Vector Engine is a Toshiba original coprocessor that independently processes vector control of motors, allowing the main processor to be allocated to system control and communication, so improve the overall performance of applications. The coprocessor has a small SSOP30 package that enables use in space-critical applications, such as mounting inside motors.

Applications

Home appliances such as washing machines, air conditioners and refrigerators; motors and pumps; vending machines and automatic teller machines.

Key Features of the Product

  1. New Built-in Vector Engine
Toshiba has developed a “New Vector Engine” that improves on the performance of its original “Vector Engine” in such as functions as phase conversion, coordinate conversion, and proportional-integral (PI) control. It also integrates new correction control functions, including minimum pulse protection and VDC filtering that bring to special motor control, including field weakening control, into motor vector control.
  2. Built-in amplifier for single-shunt current detection
The product incorporates an amplifier for single-shunt current detection that eliminates the need for an external amplifier and contributes to cost reductions.
