Shad-o-BoxTM HS CMOS-based X-Ray Detector Family Extended by Teleydyne DALSA

Teledyne DALSA, a Teledyne Technologies company and global leader in digital X-ray image sensing, today introduced two new models in its Shad-o-Box HS X-ray detector product line. The new Shad-o-Box 688 HS and 1548 HS detectors feature resolutions of 1032 x 688 and 1032 x 1548 pixels, with active areas of 10.2 x 6.8 cm and 10.2 x 15.3 cm respectively. Both models use a 99 µm pixel size. The Shad-o-Box 688 HS delivers near-XGA resolution common to 4” Il-CCD systems. Both detectors are suitable for electronics inspection and computed tomography.

Shad-o-Box HS detectors leverage Teledyne DALSA’s advanced CMOS image sensing technology, enabling the delivery of low-dose X-ray images that yield higher image quality than a-Si flat panels and image intensifier devices.

All Shad-o-Box HS digital X-ray detectors deliver high-speed, high-performance X-ray detection with a fast, reliable Gigabit Ethernet interface. The detectors are capable of frame rates up to 30 fps, and communicate via a standard Cat5e data cable over lengths up to 100m. The detectors are suitable for industrial, biomedical and scientific imaging applications, with different scintillator options covering both the low (10-50 kV) and extended (up to 225 kV) energy ranges.

Other features include:
•    4-5 lp/mm resolution
•    14-bit digitization of images
•    SDKs, drivers and programming support
