GTX Bags its First Commercial Order from Aetrex Worldwide

GTX Corp, provider of GPS Personal Location Services solutions, has bagged its first commercial order from footwear manufacturer, Aetrex Worldwide. Aetrex, known for its medically oriented footwear, has placed an initial order for 3000 GPS devices for its Ambulator line of therapeutic footwear.

The patented GPS transceiver module will be embedded in the shoe. The location data transmitted by the transceiver is collected at a centralized receiving station and retransmitted using proprietary software, cellular connectivity, the GTX Corp middleware platform, and secure viewing portal.

The target segment for these GPS fitted shoes is the Alzheimer/dementia afflicted populace in the US. The product enables caretakers to monitor the afflicted patients and helps in locating them when they get lost. The shoes will initially be made available through the portals www.foot.com; www.gpsshoe.com and through select facilities for the aged. Aetrex plans for the launch of the shoes to coincide with the National Alzheimer Association memory walks.

In keeping with GTX’s strategy of penetrating the global GPS personal location tracking markets, GTX has entered into a licensing arrangement with Australia’s GPS tracking services provider, Tracking Central. Tracking Central will make use of GTX’s tracking platform and portal to cater to the Australian market.
