WellDog Partners with Baker Hughes for Launching AquaTracker™ Pressure Sensor System

WellDog announced today that it has partnered with Baker Hughes once again to produce a new permanent multi-zone AquaTracker™ pressure sensor system suitable for monitoring aquifer water levels. The new systems can be retrieved and serviced during use, if required, providing customers additional assurance that their long term downhole monitoring needs will be met economically.

As the leading downhole gauge provider in Queensland, WellDog has applied its expertise to ensure these monitoring systems are compliant with the Queensland Water Act of 2010. The Company is installing multi-zone completions, configured to specification for coal seam gas customers in eastern Australia. Both WellDog and Baker Hughes are building stock levels at WellDog’s facility in Roma to locally support customers of the new product.

“Our clients need to monitor water levels in aquifers and coal seams in order to optimise their developments,” said James Walker, EVP commercial development at WellDog. “With this advance, our AquaTracker systems can continue to provide state-of-the-art monitoring capabilities in an affordable package, without the lifetime failure uncertainties inherent to grouted systems.”

WellDog’s AquaTracker sensor systems detect small movements of water between different geological zones, including coal seams and water aquifers, allowing customers to carefully and accurately monitor fluid displacement and cross zone communication in real time during natural gas development activities. WellDog installs AquaTracker sensor systems in a variety of architectures customized to subsurface stratigraphy and monitoring needs.
