WMS Wireless Sensor Networks Merges with Textron Systems

Textron Systems Corp. has merged with Crane Wireless Monitoring Solutions (WMS) which originally served the U.S Military and other commercial & Security organizations by providing wireless sensor systems used for border and base security processes and force protection.

The acquisition of WMS, and its 25 member team, will add to their imposing sensors like VantedgePoint Remote Monitoring System and MicroObserver Unattended Ground Sensor along with the expertise gained by them, while working for organizations like the U.S Military forces, U.S Department of Energy and U.S. Air National guard, to the portfolio of Textron Defense Systems’ISR business line, an functional unit of Textron.

According to Mark Catizone, GM & Senior VP of Textron Defense Systems, wireless and Radio Communication systems, & signal processing methods of the sensors used by WMS cope well with the ISR products like Urban and Tactical Unattended Ground Sensors and also that there was a requirement for such networked sensors in the market.
