Texas small and medium-sized businesses now have the power to uncover energy savings. Reliant has teamed up with Dallas-based technology company EnTouch Controls to bring energy management systems to businesses. Through easy-to-use monitoring, alerts and controls, business customers have the potential to reduce their electricity usage by 15 percent, according to an EnTouch study.
When customers sign up for the Reliant Business Smart Controls plan, they will also receive the IntelliTools™ Controller, a smart thermostat designed for businesses. Customers can receive up to three controllers with additional controllers available as needed with a custom solution. The controller allows users to remotely manage automatic equipment to reduce electricity usage.
The controller is simple to use through a website or iOS/Android smartphone app, where users can:
- Schedule and control HVAC to increase energy efficiency.
- Use analytics and diagnostic tools to understand how and where HVAC is used at facilities and identify opportunities to reduce usage.
- Receive notifications via text and email about changes in HVAC use, or even signal equipment malfunction or failure.
- Manage multiple locations and benchmark various sites all from one dashboard with a single login.
“Reliant evaluated the needs of our small business customers and paired a Reliant Business Smart Controls plan with EnTouch technology to help businesses succeed,” said Bill Harmon, vice president of Mass Markets, Reliant. “There are big opportunities to capture savings, and together we can use technology to help our customers uncover more ways to increase efficiency.”
Customers will have access to ongoing technical assistance through a dedicated EnTouch Customer Care Team.
“Our mission is to create easy-to-use tools that help businesses monitor energy use and find opportunities to save,” said Greg Fasullo, CEO of EnTouch Controls. “By partnering with Reliant, we can provide a robust, cost-effective tool for the Reliant business customers to achieve a sustained reduction in their energy, maintenance, and capital costs.”
The Reliant Business Smart Controls plan is just one example of the choices available to Reliant small and medium-sized business customers. The Business Primetime plan is another new plan for business customers with an electricity rate that is 30 percent less than their weekday (8 p.m. - 5 a.m.) rate. The plan is designed to benefit restaurants, fitness centers, retailers and other businesses that operate core hours during nights and weekends.
NRG, the parent company of Reliant, is also collaborating with EnTouch to provide similar technology solutions suited for large commercial and industrial customers in the future.
