Silver Spring Networks, Inc., a leading networking platform and solutions provider for smart energy networks, today announced that the SilverLink™ Sensor Network has been honored with a 2014 Smart Grid Product of the Year Award from TMCNet.com and Crossfire Media.

Silver Spring’s SilverLink Sensor Network is a new approach to unlocking insights from smart grid big data at up to 10x the speed and 1/10th the cost of traditional IT infrastructure.

“We are honored that new Silver Spring technology – the SilverLink Sensor Network – has been recognized as TMCNet.com’s 2014 Smart Grid Product of the Year,” said Alex Zheng, SilverLink Business Lead, Silver Spring Networks. “Utility companies seek new ways to unlock more value, and quickly and cost effectively develop and deliver new services. The SilverLink Sensor Network expedites the implementation of smart grid applications so utilities have greater insight into the data flowing off their network. These insights can be used to transform the customer experience.”

The SilverLink Sensor Network enables utilities and other network operators to connect real-time data to business processes to make smarter and faster business decisions, lower IT costs, create a more agile organization, and more quickly and cost-effectively launch new business models and services. Partners including AutoGrid, Bidgely, Detectent, DVI, MongoDB, ONZO, Plotwatt, and Sentient are already engaging with Silver Spring to leverage the SilverLink Sensor Network.
