New NTC Surface-Mount Thermistors for High-Accuracy Temperature Measurement from Ametherm

Ametherm today introduced a new series of NTC surface-mount thermistors for high-accuracy temperature measurement.

Recently acquired from RTI Electronics, Inc., KR series devices offer a wide range of resistance values and fast thermal response times in standard EIA 0805, 1005, and 1206 case sizes.

Providing designers with an alternative to radial leaded devices, the NTC surface-mount thermistors released today deliver high stability, reliability, and sensitivity for temperature measurement, compensation, and control in applications such as LCD controls and power transistor stabilization.

KR series devices feature resistance at 25 °C from 100 ohms to 150 kilohms, with tight tolerances of 5 % and 10 %, and negative temperature coefficients between -3.3 %/°C and -4.7 %/°C at 25 °C. The NTC surface-mount thermistors offer a dissipation constant of 2 mW/°C, maximum power ratings to 250 mW at 25 °C, and high-temperature operation to +150 °C. RoHS-compliant and lead (Pb)-free, the devices have five-sided wraparound silver palladium terminations and are available in bulk or tape-and-reel packaging.

The thermistors are available direct or through distributors such as Sager Electronics, Mouser, and Dexter Magnetic Technologies. Samples and production quantities of the KR series devices are available now, with factory lead times of six weeks.
