TowerJazz, a company specializing in integrated circuits, has announced that a unique isolated power and data technology has been developed by Triune Systems utilizing the TowerJazz TS18PM process on its 0.18µm power management platform. The new isolated technology has now been integrated in Triune’s Neo-Iso isolated load switches, TS13001 and TS13101, which are being scaled up to bulk production.
Triune Systems supplies mixed signal and power management integrated circuits. A new report released by Transparency Market Research says that the home automation market is anticipated to reach $16.4 billion over the next five years.
According to Dr. Marco Racanelli, SVP at TowerJazz, the company is happy that next- generation products like Neo-Iso isolated load switches have been launched on its power management platform. This advanced platform integrates low on-resistance high voltage devices with non-volatile memory and 0.18µm digital capability. It is suitable for the automotive, industrial and consumer markets.
Galvanically isolated load switches, TS13001 and TS13101, are generally used for replacing mechanical relays in home automation, HVAC, and industrial control systems. These products have low Rdson and can be simply controlled via a microcontroller interface. The switches also come with fault protection and current limit circuitry. Depending on system requirements, the degree of galvanic isolation can be increased from 100V to 10kV. These low-profile switches allow for sophisticated home automation solutions that are compact yet reliable.
