Forza Silicon, a leader of advanced image sensor and mixed-signal IC designs for digital camera applications, today announced that its chief technology officer, Daniel Van Blerkom, will present at Image Sensors (IS) Americas 2014 in San Francisco, California on September 10, 2014 at 12:10 p.m. PT.
Daniel Van Blerkom will present a paper titled “4K Sensors & Beyond: Bridging the Gap Between Professional and Consumer Applications.”
The paper describes the challenges and opportunities of image sensor design as the 4K and 8K standards, now dominant in the digital cinema and prosumer markets, make their way into mass-market applications.
Pushing beyond today’s 4K systems, while meeting the needs of the consumer market, requires the development of new sensor architectures that support extreme scalability. The scalable architecture must optimize noise, power and area, while addressing issues such as supply rejection, reference voltage distribution, clocking, calibration, offset correction, and the digital data path for image signal processing.
“The presentation at IS Americas demonstrates once again the expertise which Forza Silicon continues to provide in the field of high resolution CMOS image sensors,” said Dr. Daniel Van Blerkom. “The paper examines our third generation high-resolution signal chain architecture and how it resolves the challenges of bringing 4K, 8K, and resolutions beyond to both prosumer and consumer applications.”
