Immersion Corporation, the leading developer and licensor of touch feedback technology, today announced that it has entered into a licensing agreement with Kyocera, a worldwide leading supplier of mobile devices. The agreement is a multi-year worldwide license for Immersion’s TouchSense® software technology as well as its Basic Haptics IP.
“Kyocera’s commitment to develop intuitive, easy to use mobile devices that improve the user experience is a natural fit for Immersion’s haptic technology. Tactile feedback is a key mobile device feature that can differentiate products, enables rich touch-based communications, and engages users with realistic tactile effects and media experiences,” said Victor Viegas, chief executive officer of Immersion. “We are pleased to add Kyocera to our growing list of licensees and excited to help bring high-quality tactile effects to Kyocera’s portfolio of mobile devices.”
Immersion’s TouchSense technology allows device manufacturers, content creators and software developers to design high quality tactile effects that enhance the mobile device user interface, apps and entertainment content. More information can be found at www.touchsense.com/technology.
