Veratus Contamination Resistance

This video demonstrates the resistance to scale contamination of the Veratus optical encoder. Several types of contaminants were chosen to simulate real-world situations found in industrial applications. Among those were a simple fingerprint, a piece of heavy copper wire, a washer, aluminum filings, a deep scratch and a smear of machine oil. The differential analog output of the encoder is displayed on a monitor to show how the optics and processing electronics compensate for these impediments.
