Advanced geospatial technology solution provider GCS Research has launched the Montana Parcel App, a property information application that facilitates users to see location-specific data on their smartphones operating on the Android operating system.
This downloadable application uses phone-based GPS, mobile geographic information system (GIS) as well as other web tools for accessing geometry and property information that are publicly available from two databases of Montana.
Alex Philp President of GCS Research commented that combining the capabilities of an Android-enabled smartphone’s GPS-based sensor suite and mobile GIS helps provide an efficient location-based service to title companies, Realtors as well as local and state governments. Philip added that technology such as the Android OS have paved the way to create location-based business solutions that are cost-effective.
The application enables users of smartphones to get data on the real estate sector while on location on a Montana property or from any part of the world through remote access. Pinpointing the exact location of a user in Montana is possible through the GPS feature of the phone.
For the purpose of providing information, the Montana Parcel App gains access into the State of Montana CAMA (computer-assisted mass appraisal) System for retrieving information such as parcel legal description, owner name, zoning code and acreage.
Users can gain access to the Montana Parcel App by freely downloading the application through their Android OS smartphones. Going forward, GCS Research intends to continue producing location-based tools which use video/still imagery cameras, embedded sensors and GPS-based sensors among others.
