WattStopper’s FSP-201 Low Voltage Sensors Simplify Compliance with ASHRAE 90.1 and California Title 24 Requirements

WattStopper®, a leading and trusted manufacturer of energy efficient lighting controls for commercial and residential use, today announced a new product and new capabilities for its FSP-200 series sensors. Ideal for areas such as parking facilities, gas stations, pedestrian pathways, and warehouses, these next generation sensors maximize safety and security, and simplify compliance with the latest ASHRAE 90.1 (2010)/IECC (2012) and California Title 24 (2013) garage and outdoor lighting control requirements.

WattStopper introduced the FSP-201, a low voltage sensor enabling fully adjustable High/Low/Off control without a power pack when used with 0-10 VDC dim-to-off LED drivers or ballasts that have low voltage auxiliary power outputs. The FSP-201 can also work with a power pack to control other loads.

  • Following the successful FSP-211 line voltage sensor, WattStopper introduced the FSP-201, a low voltage sensor enabling fully adjustable High/Low/Off control without a power pack when used with 0-10 VDC dim-to-off LED drivers or ballasts that have low voltage auxiliary power outputs. The FSP-201 can also work with a power pack to control other loads.
  • With the addition of the FSP-201, WattStopper's line of fixture-integrated sensors are now compatible with an expanded choice of lighting loads. These next generation sensors are now capable of operating of voltages from 12 to 32 VDC.
  • Like the FSP-211, the FSP-201 is UL244A and UL508 rated as well as IP66 rated with choice of lenses, when fully assembled and installed for use in wet and outdoor locations.
  • Furthermore, WattStopper also announced the addition of a new dusk-to-dawn control option to the original FSP-211 feature set, enabling unprecedented sequences of operation based on either motion or daylight, or any combination of the two. For example, sensors can force the load on at a selected light level even if the space is unoccupied, and off at another light level although the space is occupied. The FSP-200 sensors also come with a unique security feature that locks the sensor configuration preventing any unauthorized changes.

WattStopper FSP-200 series sensors are easy to specify, install and set up. A handheld wireless configuration tool (FSIR-100) simplifies ladder-free configuration and stores up to six sensor parameter profiles with selectable high and low levels, sensitivity, time delay, and cut off settings. A choice of four lenses ensures complete coverage for mounting heights up to 40 feet, making the sensor suitable for virtually any application. This level of convenience makes the sensor a favorite with all stakeholders from fixture manufacturers to specifiers and contractors, and contributed to the original FSP-211 sensor being named to the prestigious IES Progress Report.

"Built on a legacy of proven OEM expertise, our next generation FSP-200 series sensors deliver the highest levels of satisfaction while meeting the most stringent energy code requirements. They provide the flexibility and simplicity desired for today's lighting projects," said Ryan Smillie, Product Line Manager at WattStopper.
