HARMAN, the premier connected technologies company for the automotive, consumer and enterprise markets, announced today it has received a 2016 IoT Evolution Business Impact Award from TMC and Crossfire Media, which was presented at IoT Evolution Conference & Expo taking place this week at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. The Business Impact Awards recognize a select group of companies and business leaders who have successfully leveraged IoT to solve a business issue, launch a new service or create revenue opportunities. HARMAN received its award and presented its winning case study on Wednesday, July 13, at IoT Evolution Expo.
HARMAN’s expertise in designing and deploying IoT solutions was leveraged to create an enterprise-scale, end-to-end system for capturing sensor data. Its IoT gateway equips offices with connected sensors and beacons that monitor office spaces and facility equipment, collecting data from door contact, motion, temperature, air quality, WiFi and Bluetooth. The solution also ingests streaming data, correlates with Office 365 calendars, and provides heat maps on floor plans that analyze real-time utilization. The data capture, analysis and visualization were done across Microsoft Technology Stack, which includes visualization, sensor data, machine learning, perceptual intelligence and Hadoop storage.
“IoT is driving the transformation of businesses and orchestrating new consumer experiences,” said Oren Betzaleli, head of marketing, HARMAN Connected Services. “This recognition from the IoT Evolution Business Impact Award validates HARMAN’s mission to chart a new future with enhanced productivity, decision making and design.”
“The diversity of opportunity with IoT in business continues to expand, and we are delighted to highlight HARMAN’s success in deploying IoT,” said Carl Ford, CEO, Crossfire Media, executive director of content, IoT Evolution. “As we pass the hype cycle and people see the true nature of IoT opportunity, it is delightful to be able to highlight how business is impacted by IoT.”
The Business Impact winners will be featured in the IoT eNewsletter and website.
