ESCORT Launches Radar Detector Product Enhancement to Silence False Alerts

ESCORT Inc, a leading manufacturer of radar and laser detectors, is launching a new add-on product which would permit radar detectors to function more efficiently by silencing false alerts from the k-band traffic flow of real-time traffic. According to Dave Smidebush, Vice-President, Marketing, most radar detector users experience these false alarms often and this new ESCORT product would help in avoiding these frequent false alerts.

It was first used in the densest traffic regions of the nation where it was found to be a great success, and this success pushed them to make use of these systems in frequently used traffic routes. The solar powered sensors were fixed one mile apart on the routes and they began gathering and transmitting traffic data. The hundreds of sensors also switch on and off once every minute sending false alerts to radar detectors. ESCORT radar detectors include the TSR software (Traffic Sensor Rejection) which helps in preventing the false alerts produced by the traffic flow sensors.

When drivers are exposed to traffic monitor’s false alerts the TSR can be enabled by the user for prevention, or if the driver does not need this feature then he can disable the software. The various radar models that include the TSR software are PASSPORT8500X50, PASSPORT9500ix GPS-enabled, windshield mounted radar and laser detector, ESCORT REDLINE windshield mounted radar and laser detectors, PASSPORT Qi45 & PASSPORT 9500ci customized radar and laser detector system.

According to Tim Coomer, Vice President, Product Development, ESCORT is the only company to pioneer such systems to resolve and overcome obstacles in the radar detector industry. Its many new innovations such as PASSPORT 9500ix windshield mount model and PASSPORT 9500ci custom-installed model, with special features such as Truelock, which removes false alerts by using GPS technology pinpoints the exact position and frequency; AutoLearn feature which mechanically analyses all incoming signals and removes false alerts; and an in-built intelligence feature to make the detector very reliable and precise.
