Dubai-based Hotel Competency Centre (HCC) of Schneider Electric named Silicon Oasis has exhibited its MEP and energy-management system for the first in the world, which can be deployed in hospitality firms in their conference rooms, hotel suite, and control rooms.
According to Rajeev Abraham, Schneider Electric building solutions manager for hotels, this advanced comfortable environment facilitates the stay of guests in five-star hotels, and that their guest-rooms are equipped with automation systems, permitting the guests to regulate every process including lighting, water, aircon and in-room entertainment etc.
He remarked that, they provide these solutions for renovation purposes as well as for saving power and reducing expenses, which accounts for about 50% to 70% of the opex and 8% to 12% of the income. Since the occupancy levels and income is reduced, power-saving has become a significant part of KPI, whereas security was a major factor earlier and recently it has turned to energy management, he added.
Abraham mentioned that, the main focus of HCC is to provide the customers with a chance to realize the impact of technology, rather than looking into a catalogue. HCC was started in 2008, which has been transferred to Dubai Silicon Oasis by the end 2009. HCC is collaborating with various regional as well as multi-national hotel operators, guiding them to save energy utility and expenses.
