Advanced Inline System from Ifm electronic

With the memory plug from ifm electronic the plant operator can, for the first time, manage his sensor data simply and quickly.

When used in combination with IO-Link sensors the memory plug reads the sensors’ data and parameters automatically and stores them. The unit provides plant operators who do not yet use an IO-Link master a time-saving and low-cost option for data storage.

Electrical Sensors

On the one hand, data sets can be cloned in a multitude of units of the same type - and this before installation in the plant. On the other hand, the memory plug can be installed within a plant outside the critical area. If the sensor is destroyed, the parameters are nevertheless saved and available. In case of servicing, just connect a sensor of the same type.

The parameters are automatically exchanged between the memory plug and the IO-Link sensor. If the parameters of a sensor are changed, the memory plug detects this and automatically updates itself.

There is no communication between the sensor and the memory plug during operation of the machine. The signals of the sensor are transferred to the higher-level controller without delay.

Thanks to the non-volatile memory the memory plug can be reconfigured as often as required and reused.
