TowerJazz to Participate in Image Sensors Europe Exhibition

TowerJazz has declared that it will take part in the Image Sensors Europe exhibition, scheduled to be held in London between March 23 and 24, 2011.

The company will display its latest image sensor solutions and will offer a presentation titled, ‘Foundry Perspective on Trends and Developments in CMOS Image Sensor Markets’ at the event.

The company has reinforced its position in the CMOS image sensor segment by releasing innovative solutions. Additionally, the company has started several development programs to provide clients with sophisticated technologies for high-end products used in various industries such as industrial sensors, high-end video and still photography, machine vision and medical X-ray for dental and radiography.

The 0.18um image sensor platform from TowerJazz has been exclusively developed for clients who are striving for volume production. For instance, the company has increased the production of two latest sophisticated camera sensors offering excellent functionality and receiving superior market recognition. The company has also enhanced the production and quality of various wafer scale stitched X-ray sensors. The CMOS X-ray sensors are slowly substituting conventional technologies such as image intensifier tubes and amorphous silicon plates, providing excellent functionality, easy installation and superior ownership cost for the medical segment.

The company further strengthened its presence in the intraoral X-ray dental sensor market and enhanced its market share by developing sensors for major OEMs in this segment. The company also develops low-cost integrated circuits for small video cameras in endoscopic purposes. The company’s solutions cover areas such as line scanners, 2D barcode readers, machine vision, traffic monitoring cameras and finger print detection for homeland security.

Recently, the company made an agreement with the US Army Night Vision Electronics and Sensors Directorate (NVESD) for two phases of development of CMOS low light image sensors. The project will offer a commercially competent foundry contribution to benefit not only the US Army NVESD and their distributors but also all agencies of Department of Defense (DoD) and other related third parties.

Dr. Avi Strum, General Manager and Vice President of TowerJazz’s Specialty Business Unit, stated that they have experienced a huge transition of latest designs by using sophisticated 18um CMOS image sensor technology. He added that their innovative process technology coupled with design adaptability has enabled them to offer competent performance solutions to their clients. He further said that their ongoing investment in research and development and proficient technical assistance have helped them to keep their clients at the competent edge.
