Finesse Solutions has come up with three new core modules, which provide advanced control capabilities for the TruBio DV Software.
The new modules are MathLogic module, which facilitates complex mathematical computations; SmartDose capable of creating control strategies and the BlackBox module. These new modules are extremely helpful for bioprocessing specialists while analysing data using the TruBio. The TruBio DV is powered by the DeltaV control modules and is compatible with versions 9.3 through 11.3 of the DeltaV.
The MathLogic module provides an advanced process parameter calculator. It is also capable of doing comparison of parameters and processing nested logic statements. By virtue of all the above features, mathlogic has the ability to optimize process control campaigns. SmartDose module is specially designed for simplifying the programming of pump dosing algorithms used in liquid control. The pump dosing algorithms such as bolus, ramp and continuous feed are simplified irrespective of whether a feedback from the weigh scales is received or not. The BlackBox module opens up the TruBio to the DeltaV automation experts for programming the control modules. Control modules for key process parameters like pH, dissolved oxygen, and temperature can be programmed by the experts and connected to the TruBio via a parameter hook.
Dr. Mark Selkar, CTO at Finesse, explained that the significance of the new modules was in providing the users ways of effectively optimizing the processes through the data that TruBio DV Software has been providing so far by integrating the data from a number of in-line and off-line sensors through analog and OPC-based communication. He added that with the inclusion of the new modules, TruBio would now be applicable in cell culture and fermentation. Dr. Selkar and his team plan to delve deeper into diversifying process control methodologies and is positive of rolling out a comprehensive range of modules similar to SmartDose this year
