NEAH Power Systems declared that it has entered into an agreement that is non-binding with Exigent Security Products (ESP) for the acquisition of their products.
ESP is an Illinois-based company that specializes in the development of sophisticated radiation sensors for a wide variety of industries such as defense, homeland security, and medical. ESP has supplied its radiation detectors to several radiation-affected areas in and around Japan.
ESP has also supplied its products to security establishments, self-storage facilities, health care centers and the US government. The radiation detection systems from ESP consist of sensor networks that are monitored using web-enabled messaging and management devices. The acquisition will help the companies to integrate product offerings such as radiation detectors and fuel cells to supply power for continuous and remote sensing devices.
The Chief Executive Officer of ESP, Frank O'Connor, stated that combining security sensor networks with consistent and efficient fuel cell power will offer a unique line of products. The Chief Executive Officer of NEAH Power, Chris D'Couto, mentioned that the companies intend to develop integrated security systems utilizing NEAH Power’s patented Silicon-based fuel cell systems and the ESP’s technology.
