A Calgary-based manufacturer of cost effective and innovation GPS products for application in construction, marine and agriculture markets, Hemisphere GPS has developed the Earthworks excavator grade control system designed to aid small/medium-sized contractors.
The Earthworks X100 shows the bucket position with respect to to the preferred grade instantaneously. This feature helps in improving the efficiency and accuracy of the operator in relation with excavation-based applications such as cutting a slope, trenching or digging foundations.
The Earthworks X100 consists of color touch-screen terminal that displays the tool position of bucket teeth and three rugged angle sensors. The X100 system can be improved to the Earthworks X200 or X300 that are full 2D/3D excavator grade control system designed for shaping complicated design surfaces and dual-slopes,.
The Earthworks General Manager, John Bohlke stated that the affordable Earthworks X100 greatly benefits contractors by increasing safety standards, eliminating rework and increasing productivity whereby contractors can bid on jobs with more confidence and reap profits.
With Earthworks X100, once the user sets the required terminal grade line and references the tool or the bucket or tool, the user can then fill or dig the grade based on the terminal’s visual feedback. Since the excavator grade control system eliminates the need for manual grade checks, it greatly improves accuracy and productivity while the user remains safe.
