GPS Insight has signed an agreement with Partner Software for integrating GPS Insight’s tracking technology into the Map Viewer devised by Partner Software.
This ensures that utility cooperatives have the ability to track both their service teams and resources which would help them to deploy their resources effectively and efficiently. A combination of GPS Insight and Partner Software's expertise is being used in Buckeye Rural Electric Cooperative in Rio Grande, Ohio. According to Buckeye’s Vice President of Engineering and Operations, Jeffrey Tackett, they integrate vehicle data obtained from GPS Insight to their Outage Reporting System, Work Order System and the Command Center for metering. Whenever, a truck number is clicked on, its location is immediately reflected in the Partner map, and they would know the address, line and pole where the truck is positioned at that point. The type of truck would also be seen from the picture of the truck on the map.
Tackett has stated that their employees would know where their linemen were working, since all these software tools are provided on a single screen. The same map would be utilized by all their software programs and everyone could view truck locations through the maps. GPS Insight would also offer a series of real-time alerts and historical reports and hence would be a powerful fleet management system which would guarantee the efficiency and safety of their crews. This information could be accessed from any computer on the LAN and this proves to be very impressive especially to people from other utilities.
GPS Insight’s Senior Account Manager, Joe Vidmar has revealed that the tracking technology developed by the company would improve the efficiency of the cooperative crews as it provides real-time workforce visibility. Their utility customers would greatly benefit due to the combination of GPS location based data and comprehensive Partner Software maps and obtain enhanced safety, work order tracking, scheduling, and shorter response times.
