AuthenTec Develops Fingerprint Sensor Software for Mobile Phones

A provider of embedded security solutions, identity management software, and fingerprint sensors, AuthenTec has announced the availability of its latest software development kit (SDK) for offering the fingerprint sensor feature on Android cell phones.

Access to this new SDK can be made from AuthenTec’s website. SDK enables creators to develop custom applications within the features of AuthenTec’s smart sensor such as user personalization, security of mobile payment, and comfortable fingerprint authentication.

The developer community of AuthenTec has access to its evaluation and design kits and select support tools and technical material to help members to quickly market their offerings. The members include the service providers or network operators, end-user applications and reference designs, and key software providers. They can display their fingerprint-enabled application on AuthenTec's web store and associate channels.

The popular Android Mobile application named as DataDefender was updated by AuthenTec together with the availability of SDK for supporting the fingerprint readers identified on the Motorola Atrix. The recently updated DataDefender enable users to comfortably secure their access to photos, email, text messages, and any other personal data with one finger swipe over the AuthenTec smart sensor.

AuthenTec provides absolute identity and security management solutions such as identity management software, security hardware IP, smart fingerprint sensors, mobile VPN client solutions, downloadable DRM content protection, and embedded security for the mobile market. It offers the most enhanced levels of performance, reliability, and security for the embedded security developers, content providers, mobile operators, mobile phone users, and others, thereby saving cost and time of the users.
