GE Measurement & Control has received the FM and FMc approvals for the UNIK 5000 pressure sensing platform.
Hence, this sensor can be currently used in risky zone applications such as the process and oil and gas industries, and mining globally. Previously, the UNIK 5000 sensing platform has created a major impact as a pressure measurement range for various sectors because of its reliability, versatility, flexibility and accuracy.
This UNIK 5000 platform provides customized pressure sensors from standard elements by matching specification and precision to satisfy needs of customers by integrating analogue circuitry and silicon technology along with lean manufacturing technology and modular design.
The excellent piezo-resistive sensors fabricated in the UNIK 5000 platform provide superior performance devoid of digital electronics usage, in order that the sensors are appropriate for sensitive applications like those that need fast response, low power and pulse power. It is available with pressures ranging from 70 mbar to 700 bar and in three different performance grades. The accuracy of these sensors ranges from ±0.04% FS to ±0.2% FS. A range of pressure connectors are available and the electrical connectors are chosen such that they are suitable for environments having operating temperatures varying from –55 to +125°C. A choice of eight electronics boards enables that outputs satisfy most applications and an additional configurable option is to permit individual specification of the voltage output. All the 5000 UNIK sensors have the feature of high over-pressure potential and low noise and are made from stainless steel.
