FARO’s New Laser Scanner for Remote Control Measurement

FARO Technologies has introduced the Focus3D, a pioneering laser scanner for the next generation.

Focus3D, the smallest & lightest 3D Laser Scanner

This laser scanner has incorporated new attributes that improves remote operations and registration, and presents the most powerful scanning solution of the company.

Currently, a novel Multi-Sensor hardware feature is present in this Focus3D laser scanner, it also has a height sensor and a compass to harmonize the present dual axis compensator of the instrument. The orientation and height has been calculated by the new sensors against a point of reference during every scanning process, which decreases post-processing work and advances the automatic registration method.

The new WLAN remote control integrated in every Focus3D scanner helps the users to distantly execute and download scans. Moreover, this instrument can be set with application-specific adaptors, facilitating the Focus3D scanner to be fixed in or used in mobile or super-fast tunnel scanning purposes.

The measurement tools and extra data will be offered through documentation objects by SCENE WebShare 4.9, which is the internet sharing browser of the company. The scans shared by means of WebShare can be examined with various mapping functions or observed directly on the browser. The Chief Executive Officer of FARO has stated that the new qualities integrated in this next generation Focus3D laser scanner will make life easier to the clients and added that this scanner has the major competitive edge in the market.
