Specialized Sensing Introduces Novel Sensors for Integrated Weather Stations

UK-based measurement and monitoring technology provider, Specialized Sensing has announced that it has added two new sensors to the WS series of integrated, compact weather stations from Lufft.

WS 601

The WS-601 and WS-401 are an integration of the comprehensive functionalities of the WS series and offer a tipping bucket rain gauge that provides a highly accurate measurement of the total rainfall. Along with precipitation measurement capability, the WS-401 is capable of calculating relative humidity, dew point, air pressure and air temperature whereas the WS-601 goes a step further to include direction and wind speed measurement by integrating an ultrasonic anemometer.

The compact sensors are ideal for locations and instances where maintenance and visual conditions are low and the project requires a low power consuming, easy-to-integrate device.

The digital RS485 standard interface allows Lufft’s WS line of compact stations to support various open communication protocols such as the MODBUS, UMB, SDI-12, ASCII and analogue. From building automation ventures to environmental monitoring stations, the WS weather stations provide ideal climate sensing solutions. Specialized Sensing Ltd offers physical and climate monitoring and measurement systems to a broad variety technology integrators, weather critical business, and academic institutions. These include marine, agriculture, wind/solar energy industries, transport networks, sports and offshore projects.
