Calgary-Based Sensor Geophysical Acquired by Global Geophysical Services

Global Geophysical Services headquartered in Houston, Texas has completed the acquisition of Sensor Geophysical, a privately owned geoscience technology company located in Calgary, Alberta.

By combining the multi-component acquisition experience of Global Geophysical with the multi-component processing toolkit developed by Sensor Geophysical, a cutting-image converted wave imagine technology can made available to the market.

Sensor Geophysical is the industry’s sole provider of 3C and 4C processing with proprietary software developed for multi-component imaging. The largest 3C recording system channel is maintained by Global Geophysical and the company is currently developing Autoseisnodal 3C and 4C systems.

The Chief Technology Officer of Global Geophysical, Christopher T Usher stated that the company is looking forward to the deployment of the Sensor Geophysical’s converted wave imaging in all data processing centers. The company will also leverage the established presence of Sensor Geophysical in Canada to introduce the patented Weinman Geosciences HTI processing and other product offerings. The acquisition makes availability of Global Geophysical’s proprietary technology easily accessible by its customers worldwide, through the expansion of its data processing network. The company will also introduce its microseismic fracture imaging and HTI processing toolkits into the Calgary market.

Global Geophysical Services provides integrated solutions such as seismic data processing, micro seismic monitoring, RG-3D Reservoir Grade seismic data acquisition, data analysis, multi-client data library solutions and interpretation services.
