Symphony Sensors, a company that concentrates on the commercialization of the physical sensor developed based on optoelectronics, has announced the expansion of the multi-axis gravity sensors that are smallest in the world.
These sensor devices with little microGal resolution, which also have the potential to be functioned at any orientation, are ideal for many applications such as oilfield services, geophysical exploration and instrumentation, civil infrastructure monitoring, homeland security, and other markets. The company conducted tests for these sensors at the Baker Hughes facility in Texas.
The Vice President and Fellow of Baker Hughes, Regional Technology Centers, Dr. Dan Georgi stated that this multi-axis gravity sensor was not previously created by anyone and was able to reach excellent performance.
Gary Cresswell, Vice President of Baker Hughes, Wireline Services, commented that Symphony is positively expecting to refine further packaging, depending on the sensor’s performance in the laboratory, for commercializing these sensors for oilfield services.
According to Dr. Dustin W. Carr, Symphony Sensors’ CTO and Vice President, the sensors’ performance has shown the efficiency of the LumenSeis sensing technology for developing a new class of physical sensors. The previous sensors do not have the features of these new devices.
