Astro-Med, a manufacturer of test & measurement instruments, printing systems and medical instrumentation devices, has announced that the Dash MX portable data acquisition recorder has won the title of “Product of the Year”at the 2011 NASA Tech Briefs competition.
Furthermore, the product was also chosen as the Product of the Month in October 2011 by editors of the NASA Tech Briefs, selected for its technical merit and practical value.
The Dash MX developed by Astro-Med is a high speed, multi-channel recorder capable of collecting transient signals and high frequency dataalong with long-term trending capabilities. Weighing just 20 lbs, the compact yet rugged design of the recorder makes it suitable for lab or field use. An internal rechargeable battery allows for 30 minutes of operation.
The Dash MX data acquisition recorder can be used in applications in electric utility, automotive, aerospace, telecommunications, steel mills, pulp & paper, metals, R&D labs, scientific, educational and medical markets. It has been designed for applications to carry out remote troubleshooting, transient capture as well as manufacturing process monitoring.
The Dash MX recorder is an eight channel system operational in temperatures ranging between 0°C to 40°C (32°F to 104°F). The portable recorder offers a sample rate of up to 1MHz and also features a data capture hard drive of 160 GB capacity. The Dash MX also features a 12-in. full color touch screen user interface and provides pre-defined set up options which makes it easy to use.
