Astro-Med Releases TMX-18 Data Acquisition System

Astro-Med has announced the release of the TMX-18, a high-speed data acquisition system.

Featuring a 17”, high resolution, intuitive touch screen display, the TMX-18 offers predefined set-up options that reduces the time and effort required for test setups. The intuitive touch-screen system allows for complete operation and easy navigation through menus and interface icons. The TMX-18 can be easily operated and does not feature any push-buttons or switches.

It offers 18 channels of recording that is stored in a 1 TByte hard drive offering precise data synchronization. Each channel uses a distinct 16 bit A/D, making the TMX-18 data acquisition system well-suited for long-term trending as well as high-speed testing.

The National Sales Manager for Astro-Med’s Test & Measurement Product Group, Jon Lee stated that the TMX-18 enables data extraction that would typically take several hours and provides the results in a few minutes. Furthermore, in several cases information extraction is available in real-time.

The TMX-18 also offers data filtering options that allow the user access to high pass, low pass, band stop as well as band pass filtering using Chebyshev, Butterworth or Bessel topologies while the unfiltered, raw data is saved in the hard drive. Intelligent triggering and embedded scope capture capabilities of the TMX-18 enables low-speed trending. Furthermore, its optional video-recording feature records at 30 fps.

The advanced processing technology of the TMX-18 data acquisition system helps reduce system downtime. The TMX-18 integrates the QuickReview and LookBack technologies that allow for instantaneous review of the long-term data collected. Furthermore, the TMX-18 also minimizes archive time while saving hard drive space by using intelligent trigger and embedded scope capture capabilities.

The applications of the TMX-18 include aerospace and defense, telemetry, power generation, transportation, automotive, telecommunications, steelworks and heavy industry.
