CAS DataLoggers has introduced the T&D log-EZ Wireless Thermo Recorder for the wine industry. The ambient humidity and temperature in wine cellars, fermentation vats and other production areas need to be monitored, as production and storage of wine are sensitive to the environment.
Wine bottles may get spoilt from rotting or wet cork or from excess warmth.
The new T&D log-EZ Wireless Thermo Recorder is a compact, light-weight and user-friendly device that can monitor changes in temperature and humidity of wine during their storage and production phases. It can be used in confined areas. The device monitors humidity within a range of 15% to 90% RH and temperature within a range of 0°C to 50°C. The device consumes less power and lasts for six months on a single AA alkaline battery. The log-EZ can record a maximum of 1,440 readings, which is equivalent to readings taken for 10 full days at intervals of 10-minutes.
The recorder features a wireless communication, which extends to 160 ft in unobstructed conditions. This does away with the necessity of cables for collecting the data. The device can be used as repeaters and 16 units can be chained. Multiple log-EZ units can be placed at different places in a large storage area, and the data can be managed with a single computer.
