CAS DataLoggers has announced the availability of new dataTaker Series 3 Intelligent Universal Data Loggers with switchable 5 V excitation feature for powering sensors.
Devices for limiting power consumption are required in many applications. The Series 3 dataloggers provide up to 25 mA that can be used for providing power to different types of analog sensors, such as flowmeters, GPS, pulse and pressure transducers. dataTaker is providing the switchable 5 V output feature in all of its Series 3 devices. These devices include power management features for minimizing the total power consumption.
The 5 V output is obtained from the analog power supply of the data logger, which gets turned on whenever the analog section gets powered, when measurements are taken. If continuous 5 V output is required, then another command is available for enabling this requirement. The dataTaker Series 3 Intelligent Universal Data Loggers can be used to measure current, voltage, temperature, 4-20 mA loops and other signals from different input signal types. They feature programming and alarm facilities that allow these devices to process the measured data and also perform actions by themselves. They can be used for local data logging and acquisition through a computer and can function as stand-alone devices or can be connected over the internet or modem to a centralized computer. These dataloggers have USB, Serial, cellular and Ethernet communications capabilities and built-in web servers.
The dataTaker dataloggers can be configured through the web interface and the data can be viewed through web browsers. Data can also be sent through FTP over a mobile phone network or the internet.
