Yokogawa Electric declared its August 17 launch of the upgraded version of its ADMAG AXR two-wire magnetic flowmeter. The upgraded flowmeter has been validated for implementation in IEC safety integrity level*1 2 (SIL2) applications, complying with the recent HART 7*2 protocol.
The upgraded ADMAG AXR two-wire magnetic flowmeter can perform as much as ADMAG AXF four-wire magnetic flowmeter with low-noise and higher precision. Magnetic flowmeters are of four-wired (two pairs of cables for power supply and signal output, respectively) and the two-wired (single pair of cables).
In response to the growing demand for protective plant operations, Yokogawa has upgraded ADMAG AXR magnetic flowmeters by incorporating HART 7 support and SIL2 certification features.
The upgraded ADMAG AXR has been validated for safety application in SIL2 operations within oil, chemical, petrochemicals, and other industries. Combination of two ADMAG AXR flowmeters supports SIL3 applications. New ADMAG AXR also supports HART 7.
As the first flowmeter to deploy the dual frequency excitation method*3, ADMAG AXR ensures high noise resistance, precise measurement for extensive fluid conditions. The two-wire flowmeter is effective for use in monitoring and control applications. It ensures very low running costs as well as maintenance and installation costs. The explosion-proof types are currently available and are ideal for deployment in risky areas.
The new upgrades are suitable for use in industries such as food & beverages, chemicals, water supply, and iron & steel for measuring flow rates of chemicals, water, and other conductive fluids.
