RF Micro Devices (RFMD) has introduced a new series of advanced Voltage Controlled Oscillators (VCOs) called the RFVC975x for transceiver and cellular infrastructure applications.
The trend of wireless infrastructure has shifted towards smaller base stations for remote radio heads and microcells. System designers are searching for customized solutions that deliver better performance and flexibility over current series of VCOs. The RFVC975x delivers customized solutions in terms of output power and frequency.
The RFVC975x series delivers improved phase noise performance that complies with the needs of 4G, 3G and 2G cellular base stations. The RFVC975x series are laminate based VCOs.
The new VCOs consumes minimum electricity and enhances the thermal management of base stations. Unlike current signal source modules, the RFVC975x is comparatively small and meets the demand for smaller signal source modules.
RF Micro Devices designs and produces a wide range of advanced semiconductor and radio frequency components. These components deliver superior connectivity and support sophisticated functions in wireless infrastructure, broadband, mobile handsets, wireless local area network and aerospace and defense sectors. In addition to VCOs, RF Micro Devices also designs sophisticated multi-chip modules (MCMs) and integrated RF shielding product, MicroShield.
RF Micro Devices distributes its products to communications equipment providers and cellular device companies across the globe. RF Micro Devices is an ISO 9001- and ISO 14001-certified company and has a global network of design, production, sales and support centers. The company’s headquarters is based in Greensboro, North Carolina, USA.
