IB and Raptor-ID Jointly Develop World’s Smallest Fingerprint Scanner

Integrated Biometrics (IB) has declared the development of Watson-Mini, the smallest Appendix F (App F) certified fingerprint scanner which is a culmination of the company’s partnership with Raptor Identification Systems (Raptor ID).

This versatile product was developed in response to the company’s demand for a lightweight, durable, compact App F certified fingerprint scanner for incorporation within the RaptorPad, the flagship product of Raptor ID. The successful development of this new product was driven by IB's patented LES fingerprint scanning technology, its market presence, and its seamless co-operation with Raptor ID's engineering team.

The RaptorPad serves to be a compact Biometrics enrollment tool having full capability, and is modified and designed for use in complex and limited environments. The small form factor and rugged nature of the Raptorpad limited the integration of existing fingerprint scanner. Integrated Biometrics and Raptor ID exchanged their ideas and skills, which resulted in the development of the new Watson-Mini. The Watson-Mini is an ultra-low profile, rugged, lightweight two-finger roll scanner that is based on IB's patented Light Emitting Sensor (LES) technology. In contrast to optical fingerprint scanners, Watson-Mini is capable of operating in direct sunlight. It is the premier non-optical Appendix F certified biometric fingerprint reader.

Integrated with the Watson-Mini, the RaptorPad provides personnel in the field with improved potential. By packing superior commercially available biometric enrollment and communications technologies to a handheld form factor, the RaptorPad leads all the other identification technologies. By creating and developing the ruggedized Android-based tablet from the start improves its cost-efficiency and promotes its user-friendly features.
