Vectron International Releases ViSmart VS-25xx Series Viscosity Sensor

Vectron International, a leader in the design, manufacture and marketing of Frequency Control, Sensor, and Hybrid Product solutions, announces the expansion of its SenGenuity line of fluid sensing solutions with the release of the ViSmart® VS-25xx Series Viscosity Sensor for measurement and control of aqueous and solvent based inks. This product will be showcased in Hall B5, Stand 237 at the Electronica 2012 Show in Munich, Germany from November 13-16th 2012.

The ATEX certified ViSmart® VS-2511 Viscosity Sensor measures fluid viscosity in–situ and in real time. When used in conjunction with the ATEX certified VB–2510 Shunt Diode Barrier and the VisConnect® converter modules, the sensor system provides continuous viscosity and temperature measurements in a variety of output interfaces including CANopen, RS–232, 4–20mA, and 0–4V.

The world’s smallest viscosity sensor, the ViSmart® VS-25xx sensors are solid state with no moving parts and are based on Vectron’s Bulk Acoustic Wave (BAW) technology. The surface of the sensors are treated with diamond like carbon making them scratch and chemical resistant, and allowing for use with both aqueous and solvent based inks.

“In order to ensure high-quality printed product, the major printing press manufacturers rely on precise control of ink viscosity,” commented Gregory Smolka, Vice President Sales and Sensor Products. “The ViSmart® VS-2511 viscosity sensor’s compact design and flexible interface enables easy integration into the printing press, while the solid-state no moving parts construction ensures robust, reliable performance.”

The ViSmart® VS-25xx Viscosity Sensors are offered with the following ordering options; ½” NPT, BSPT, or BSPP male threaded fitting with M12X1, 8 pin male connector for detachable cable; hazardous or non-hazardous certified; and either standard or customizable OEM part numbers.
