3M Touch Systems’ recently announced the M2256PW multi-touch display that is based on the innovative 3M Projected Capacitive Technology (3M PCT) provides total multi-touch functionalities with response time less than 6 ms for 20 simultaneous touches to application developers.
The display’ high-speed, 20+ finger multi touch input along with wide viewing angle, high-definition LCD enables it to provide performance that exceeds the most demanding multiuser interactive or multifinger applications’ requirements.
The display features sturdy anti-glare surface, 1680 x 1050 high-definition LCD screen, serial or RS232 dual-mode communication protocol, audio input, VGA and DVI input. It offers a high interactivity level functionality that is leveraged by applications like security monitoring systems, computer-aided design, training, education, computer gaming and digital signage. Its Windows 7 compatibility obviates the need of additional drivers for using with Windows 7. 3M provides a software and multi-touch driver utility for using the display with Windows 7/XP/Vista and Linux operating systems. In addition, 3M will also provide communication protocol documents to customers preferring to create their own drivers.
Interface manipulation using one or more hands on the display screen is possible by palm accommodation. As many as 3358 touch points have been provided to facilitate edge accuracy and precise draw for full screen interactivity. Its anti-stiction touch surface offers users with natural and smooth draw response.
