The privately held biometric sensor firm, Validity, which specializes in dependable, convenient, and fingerprint authentication systems,  launched its VFS5111 fingerprint system.

This VFS5111 fingerprint sensor provides tri-color LED support and enhanced performance. It has integrated LED logic into the ASIC, and does not need additional parts besides the LED, rendering it a cost-effective system for notebook PC OEMs.

The fingerprint solutions of Validity are shipping in many PC peripheral gadgets and notebook PCs already. Validity continues to make considerable investments in novel fingerprint technology for offering a secure and convenient password management system to consumers. The company is considered as a leading innovator in the industry and was the LED fingerprint’s original innovator.

Its initial commercial LED fingerprint system is being shipped in particular notebook PC models of HP.

Validity’s Vice President of Marketing and Business Development Mariel van Tatenhove informed that the use of innovative design and high performance fingerprint sensors by Validity has liberated its customers from storing multiple passwords in unsafe locations or remembering them. He explained that the tri-color LED feature is incorporated in Validity’s novel fingerprint sensor suite to provide a rich customer experience and safeguard data and gadgets in a convenient manner. Integrating the LED support in the ASIC renders it a low cost system, enabling OEMs of notebook PCs to incorporate the LED capability easily.
