Macquarie Telecom, BMC Software to Provide Regulatory-Compliant Cloud-Based IT Service Management in Australia

Australia continues to see a massive increase in the demand for cloud-based services that satisfy the country's data security and privacy regulations. To capitalise on this rapidly ramping opportunity, BMC Software and Macquarie Telecom have expanded their relationship to deliver regulatory-compliant cloud-based IT service management to Australian customers.

To that end, BMC Software has signed an agreement enabling Macquarie Telecom to host BMC Remedy OnDemand, a fully integrated cloud-based enterprise-class service management suite of applications, in a brand new Intellicentre 2 data centre, one of the most highly certified in Australia, located in North Ryde, with a failover in Canberra that meets all the requirements regarding geographic separation of redundant or backup systems.

The BMC Remedy OnDemand solution is based on the industry leading BMC Remedy IT Service Management Suite that natively integrates ITIL(R) processes with service desk, incident, problem, change, release, asset, service request and service level management. This enables IT operations to quickly resolve business-critical incidents, reduce risk and enforce service level agreements without any on-premise infrastructure or support requirements.

Key Points to Know

  • Partnership Provides Easy Migration to the Cloud -- Macquarie Telecom's customers in Australia will have the option to move from their existing IT service desk to BMC Remedy OnDemand, a highly standardised, subscription-based cloud service. Key national security and privacy concerns are fully satisfied, with all data being hosted locally.
  • Customers Will Realize Rapid Cost Savings -- Macquarie Telecom and BMC can quickly reduce the overall cost of IT service management for customers, as well as enable greater flexibility and innovation via differentiated Remedy OnDemand mobile and social capabilities.

Supporting Perspectives

Chip Salyards, BMC vice president and general manager in Asia Pacific:

"Macquarie Telecom has been a BMC customer for many years, so this partnership to host BMC Remedy OnDemand in their new Australian data centre was a natural extension of our relationship. Together, BMC and Macquarie Telecom will give our customers access to a flexible and cost-effective cloud-based delivery model for IT service management.
This allows them to quickly access new features, solutions and best practices without the need for additional capital investment or incremental IT staff and without any compliance worries."

Stuart Mills, Head of Digital and SaaS Hosting at Macquarie Telecom:

"As the market leader in IT Service Management, we're delighted BMC has chosen Macquarie Telecom to host Remedy OnDemand for the Australian market," said Stuart Mills, Head of Digital and SaaS Hosting, Macquarie Telecom. "The combination of BMC operating and managing the service and Macquarie Telecom hosting the software and the infrastructure will enhance our collective positions in cloud-based service management."

James Russell, Area VP Sales, ANZ, Korea & Japan, BMC Software:

"This partnership with Macquarie Telecom is a big win for both companies. Increasingly, customers are looking at the cloud to reap the benefits it provides in terms of efficiencies and cost reductions, but at the same time their concern is data sovereignty. This new partnership will address both needs and is going to be a key differentiator for both companies."
