L-3 Communications have declared that, a $200 Million ID/IQ (indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity) contract has been granted to one of its WESCAM subsidiary by the U.S. Air Force.
The funds generated from this contract would be diverted to buy the most modern version of L-3’s MX-15 Di Targeting System which comes along with a MX-20D targeting system and HD (high-definition) sensors to be used for the Project Liberty Program, for an anonymous customer, for which L-3 is the chief contractor.
During a period of 1½ years, the Air Force has acquired services and products worth more than $400 million via the 3 ID/IQ contracts granted to L-3. They have procured 6 varied models of MX turrets featuring long range capability, accuracy of target location high-reliability, and ease of use on different platforms. These sensors provide steady EO/IR video to boost the U.S. Troop operations and Coalition forces.
President of L-3 WESCAM, John Dehne stated that they were proud to support the Air Force by supplying image and target solutions. Their products’ adaptability and modular design has helped the Air Force to equip legacy and other new platforms with potent laser and EO/IR sensors.
