L-3 Communications has added Airborne Technologies Incorporated (ATI), as an asset purchase into its company portfolio. ATI is a virtuoso in aeronautical engineering and in producing and maintaining UAS (Unmanned Aircraft Systems) and it products are used by the defense, intelligence and commercial aerospace sectors. It is assumed to bring about a retailing of around $20 million by the year end.
According to Michael T Strianese, President, CEO and Chairman of L-3, ATI being a leading platform contributor in diminutive, expendable UAS (SEUAS) sector, will enrich L-3’s global position as a UAS Solutions supplier, in today’s high potential market.
ATI promotes a number of projects carried out by the Department of defense and is also a principal dealer in manufacturing diminutive, expendable, air launched UAS. Thus ATI will augment L-3’s capacity to provide solutions in the extra key precision engagement market sections.
L-3 Communications has a total global workforce of 67,000, its Head Office being situated in New York. It is a top-class provider of C3 ISR (Command, Control, Communications, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance) Systems, Government services, airplane advancements and maintenance and also furnishes a wide array of electric systems utilized by commercial and military segments. It has declared a sales figure of $15.66 Billion for the year 2009.
