CACI Receives Contract to Help Develop Advanced Sensor Technologies for US Army

CACI International Inc announced today it has been awarded a $32.5 million contract to support the development of specialized technologies for the U.S. Army’s Night Vision and Electronic Sensors Directorate (NVESD). This two-year (one base plus one option year) contract was awarded under the Rapid Response – Third Generation (R23G) contract vehicle.

As new work for CACI, it expands the company’s business in its C4ISR (Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance) market area.

NVESD, known as the “Night Vision Lab” and located at Fort Belvoir, Va., conducts research and development of advanced night vision and other sensor technologies, such as infrared weapon sights and surveillance systems, that enhance the effectiveness of our Armed Forces in nighttime and limited visibility conditions. With this contract, CACI will provide program management and systems engineering support for the development, testing, and fielding of electro-optical and infrared sensor components and countermeasures, which detect and identify air, sea, and ground targets.

CACI brings a strong track record of experience supporting NVESD with technical, management, and engineering solutions. CACI’s program managers, engineers, and technology specialists have extensive experience providing support services to help build the advanced sensor technologies the Army requires to increase Soldier awareness of threats and adversaries.

John Mengucci, CACI’s Chief Operating Officer and President of U.S. Operations, said, “This contract win demonstrates CACI’s proven ability to provide the support services needed to rapidly develop sensor technologies that give our Armed Forces an operational advantage wherever they serve.”

According to CACI President and Chief Executive Officer Ken Asbury, “CACI has supported the Army’s Night Vision and Electronic Sensors Directorate for decades and has a keen understanding of its mission. In addition to building on our dedicated service for this important customer, this contract award enables us to support the development of innovative sensor technologies that are becoming increasingly critical to identifying and targeting threats to our Soldiers and homeland.”
