Earth Networks Presents at 9th Annual CONNECTIONS Summit at 2015 International CES

Earth Networks, the company behind WeatherBug and WeatherBug Home, will speak at Parks Associates’ 9th annual CONNECTIONS™ Summit at CES. CMO Amena Ali will participate in the session, “Internet of Things: Expanding Smart Devices,” at 9:15 am on January 6 at the Venetian Hotel.

“At WeatherBug, we’re harnessing the Internet of Things to help people Know Before to stay safer and be more comfortable,” says Amena Ali. “Just as we provide real-time, hyper-local weather information from our own network of weather sensors -- the largest in the world -- we are expanding our big data smarts from weather to home energy and comfort with WeatherBug Home. A whopping 50% of home energy use is driven by the weather. By integrating and analyzing data from connected home devices, we can provide home energy insights, alerts and tips for greater comfort and savings.”

The CONNECTIONS™ Summit focuses on the evolving landscape for the connected home, including sessions on connected devices, next-generation TV services and streaming media, IoT and smart home technologies, and consumer tech support. According to Parks Associates research, smart home devices will exceed 20 million units by the end of 2014, increasing to nearly 36 million units by 2017.

WeatherBug Home puts homeowner comfort and savings first. WeatherBug Home combines data from your home’s connected devices with our real-time weather and analytics to automatically adjust your thermostat based on your home’s unique profile. With our Energy Insight ScoreCard, homeowners gain personalized insight into their energy use, a customized energy use forecast for the upcoming month, and specific suggestions for lowering their energy use.
