Elster’s A3 ALPHA Meter Achieves New UL Voluntary Safety Listing

Elster Solutions proudly announces that its A3 ALPHA meter has achieved a new Underwriters Laboratories (UL) voluntary safety listing, establishing it as one of the premiere meters of its kind to receive certification.

"Having achieved this UL safety certification further enhances the A3 ALPHA meter platform and validates the design as a safe and secure electric meter for the marketplace," says Dennis Warden, VP & GM for Electric Metering from Elster Solutions. Since its introduction over a decade ago, the A3 ALPHA meter has a proven track record of success and is recognized as a market leader.

The recently published UL Standard for Safety for Electric Utility Meters requires testing against flammability and water ingress, as well as for mechanical and radio frequency emissions of electric utility meters. UL listing provides further confidence in the A3 ALPHA Smart Meter as well as to future Elster products.

Warden additionally states, "Elster is dedicated to maintaining high quality standards, continued product improvement, and a firm commitment to consumers' safety. Utilities must be confident in the safety and quality of the electric meters they deploy. This is critical to them and their customers. UL is the recognized leader in safety and the UL listing translates to higher consumer confidence."
