Avago has launched the innovative ADNS-7630 modeled Bluetooth (BT) 2.1 System-on-Chip (SoC) laser navigation sensor for use in the wire-free mouse functions.
This is the company's initial navigation sensor featuring an in-built transceiver with BT 2.1, autonomous baseband processor and VCSEL surface reflector condensed into a package. The laser oriented mice is capable of capturing more data with a maximum speed of 30 inches in each second (ips) and with acceleration in the range of 8 g in comparison with a LED supported mice.
The company’s LaserStream methodology facilitates accurate speedy tracing on almost all the planes.. The laser energy supplied in all the ADNS-7630 devices is pre-evaluated in Avago's manufacturing unit to satisfy the IEC/EN60825-1 Class 1 Vision Safety measures.
The device is equipped with a Digital Signal Processor (DSP), Bluetooth HID (Human Interface Device) stream output, an Image Acquisition System (IAS) and a RF transceiver. The quality Images captured by the IAS are transformed by the DSP that inturn produces relative displacement measurements which are then transposed for wire-free communication to the Bluetooth receiver. to track the position and distance of the moving bodies.. All these steps are performed by the ADNS-7630 automatically without the interference of the mouse designer with a firmware or source code.
This SoC BT device is designed to have a complete synchronic BT navigation element with baseband circuits. All the algorithms and transmission incorporated in the laser sensor and RF processes have been standardized for the application purposes.
The device promotes various I/Os that can be designed as LED indicators and buttons. Each button can be automated to serve different operations, upon clicking it once, twice or pressing it for a long period. Various button operations involve audio controllable media buttons, KeyMap for keyboard shortcut keys as well as mouse resolution modifying characteristics.
The ADNS-7630 also provides optical and mechanical tilt-wheel and z-wheel functionalities, automated resolution capabilities, four-axis sensing revolution and designable low energy operational features for long-life of the batteries.
The unique freely accessible Avago MConfig software offers extended storage capacity in an additional EEPROM with 128 kbit so as to serve a broad range of products by one standard ADNS-7630 configuration.
In addition to all these characteristics, the ADNS-7630 product features automated resolutions in the order of 200-3000 cpi with 250 cpi additions; 3 V power supply, over ten I/O pins for sensitive design and four- axis revolutions in 0°, 90°, 180° or 270°.
