Camtek Affirms Position as CMOS Image Sensor Developer

Camtek has declared receiving an order from a leading manufacturer for supply of wafer inspection systems for multiple uses.

The company’s back-end survey equipment will be deployed for production and will enhance the customer's output. The work order incorporates multiple Falcon systems for two dimensional inspections. The systems will be set up in the first quarter of 2011.

According to Roy Porat, chief executive officer, the company’s systems for CMOS Image sensors offer a sub-resolution sensing feature and are used to track Color Filter Array process control. This enables users to identify crucial malfunctions in the image sensor array at a higher throughput. Developments in industry are enhancing the need for these image sensors with more and more cameras being deployed in the automotive segment. It will also be used as an inspection tool. Cameras featuring three megapixels undergo a simple inspection while those having  five or more megapixels are 100% inspected.
