Online monitoring solutions provider, FreightWatch Security Net, has introduced new sensor peripheral products for its “Pill Bottle” Tracker.
The products would enable the Geo F2 tracker to be placed unobtrusively in shipping containers and similar facilities. The tracker would then be able to relay information about changes in light, humidity and temperature.
Integrating FreightWatch’s Geo F2 GPS tracker with a ZigBee radio receiver will enable real time relay of environmental data. The tracker incorporates a Qualcomm QSC6055 chipset based module.
The F2 Temperature Probe peripheral, one of the newly introduced products, can be attached to the external 18-pin connector of the Geo F2 tracker. The probe has the capability to measure the internal temperature of sensitive-type cargo with an accuracy of +/- 1/2°C.
The Digi International XBee Sensor, the other new peripheral, has the ability to report light, humidity and temperature through short range RF communications that are ZigBee-compliant. These sensors can be placed in the cargo in a sealed container or trailer and are capable of transmitting data about real time environmental conditions via the Geo F2 GPS tracker.
