Game publisher Ubisoft and SteelSeries have jointly provided dedicated branded peripherals that can be used for the forthcoming real-time strategy game R.U.S.E.

SteelSeries R.U.S.E. Laser Mouse

The SteelSeries Xai Laser Mouse R.U.S.E. Edition provides a competitive advantage to players through its preconfigured profile setting and enhanced technology. This setting helps to optimize the game play. The preloaded R.U.S.E. profile that was developed using Ubisoft’s input helps in fast access of the HQ and R.U.S.E. Menus, along with preset macro buttons that guide the player from an overall view of the war to the battlefield’s center stage instantly. The R.U.S.E. mousepad incorporates the game’s graphics features and also offers a consistent and smooth glide, resulting in an immersive and total R.U.S.E. experience.

The R.U.S.E. is in open beta presently and enables players to utilize the bluffing tactics and strategy in the role of a general of their countries’ army in the World War II. The range and speed of movement demanded by the game requires tools capable of offering high levels of accuracy and precision. Ubisoft selected SteelSeries as its partner due to the award-winning technology and enhanced features which are provided to gamers by the SteelSeriesXai.

Besides the pre-loaded R.U.S.E. profile in the SteelSeries Xai Laser Mouse R.U.S.E. Edition, SteelSeries will provide R.U.S.E profiles that are pro-game recommended to the users for downloading when the game is launched in June 2010. The SteelSeries website will incorporate these recommended profiles.

The R.U.S.E. gaming surfaces is created with an optimized textured surface and high quality cloth. This surface ensures glide and smoothness. Sliding is prevented by the non-slippery rubber base, irrespective of the surface on which the mouse is placed. The game includes an artificial artwork that uses the deception element to depict a thrilling battle.

The R.U.S.E. is all set for release on the Microsoft’s Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system, the PlayStation 3 computer entertainment system, and the Windows PC on June 8, 2010.

Salient features of the Laser Mouse that help in the delivery of exceptional personalization levels include dedicated sensor innovations from SteelSeries, such as ExactSens, SteelSeries ExactAim, automated lift distance calibration, and SteelSeries FreeMove. The mouse is shaped ambidextrously and has a 10.8 megapixels/s sensor that processes 12,000 frames/s with 5,001 Counts Per Inch (CPI) having 150 inches/s movement speeds.

SteelSeries’ CEO Bruce Hawver informed that the game’s dedicated game-play feature was created around an extraordinary zooming engine that would impress the R.U.S.E. players.

Ubisoft’s Senior Producer Mathieu Girard said that it is good strategy to select a mouse that follows commands originating from the player’s hand manipulations and the eye, for a game where each detail counts.
