Balluff Introduces Factor 1+ Version Inductive Proximity Sensors

Balluff has expanded its well-known Factor 1 line of inductive proximity sensors with the introduction of a weld immune Factor 1+ version.

Balluff Factor 1+ Inductive Proximity Sensors now include weld field immune versions with long range sensing capability.

The long range distance sensor, Factor 1+ features a multi-coil design, which enables it to sense all type of metals, including ferrous and non-ferrous, at the same distance without de-rating the sensing range based on the target material.

The Factor 1+ version has longer switching distances for improved performance. It needs less time for installation, as it requires minimal adjustments. It is highly reliable even if the objects that need to be detected, vibrate. It is optimized for sensor identification and housing in order to fulfill needs in the automobile industry. It is suitable for applications that use different metallic targets such as copper, steel, aluminum and brass.

Factor 1 sensor was specifically engineered for welding applications. Its PTFE coating protects it from weld flash and weld slag produced during the process of welding. Apart from its improved application versatility, Balluff Factor 1+ sensors also enable standardization on a limited number of sensor designs that can reduce stocking costs of tool cribs and supply chain, particularly for the welding process.

The Factor 1+ version of sensors is suitable for applications involving high magnetic interference sources, including welders, drives, motors and transformers. Balluff products for factory floor and OEM solutions are utilized to monitor, position, assemble, automate, regulate and control production, assembly and packaging operations for industries such as medical, alternative energy, aerospace, wood processing, material handling, plastics, automotive, electrical, metal working, and electronics.
